EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A suspect believed to be the man dubbed the "Bearded Bandit" after a series of bank robberies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts has been taken into custody at a Massachusetts motel.
Authorities say Justin Worley, and a fake beard, were found at the Motel 6 in Seekonk at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The 33-year-old Worley was held on $300,000 cash bail at his arraignment Thursday.
Police spotted two vehicles linked to some of the robberies at the motel. Several police departments and the FBI were involved in the arrest.
Police say there have been at least eight robberies linked to the "Bearded Bandit" since February, the last occurring Tuesday at a Pawtucket Credit Union branch in East Providence.
