Sweet Surprise

ARLINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) - A Massachusetts woman whose boyfriend is serving overseas received a sweet surprise when she went into a store for some coffee and came out to a touching tribute.

"I put a sticker on my car that says, 'My heart is in Afghanistan,'" said Samantha Ford.

Ford's boyfriend, Army Specialist Albert DiSimone, was deployed in September. They've known each other since fifth grade.

Ford was coming out of a Dunkin Donuts shop in Arlington last weekend...

"I came out and I immediately saw something on my car. At first I thought it was a ticket, so I wasn't too happy," Ford said.

But it was a note.

It read:

"I noticed the sticker on the back of your car. Take your hero out to dinner when he comes home. Thank you both for serving. Him deployed and you for waiting."

"I just started crying," Ford said. "They left two $20 bills inside the envelope."

That night, Ford shared her story on Facebook and posted it to a military website. It received over one million likes overnight.
