AYER, Mass. (AP) - Authorities now say a Shirley teen who died after getting struck by two vehicles in the street outside an Ayer pizza parlor was fleeing from a thief.
Police say 15-year-old Corey Buxton died at a hospital after getting struck by two vehicles as he tried to run across West Main Street on Wednesday evening.
Prosecutors say Buxton was running from 17-year-old Robert Malcolm of Ayer.
Malcolm was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Monday at his arraignment Thursday in Ayer District Court on charges of armed robbery and assault to rob. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
