BOSTON (AP) - The head of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is
touting some good numbers.
General Manager Daniel Grabauskas says 94 percent of its
commuter trains have arrived within five minutes of their scheduled
time during the past four months. He says that's the best
performance in more than three years.
The MBTA's commuter rail trains make 491 trips on 13 lines
each weekday.
Grabauskas says the improved service can be partly
attributed to the removal of speed restrictions on various lines,
upgraded equipment and more focused repairs.
