BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Deval Patrick is making a two-day trip to Washington
focused on state economic development and health care issues.
The Democrat was meeting Wednesday afternoon with Health and
Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and Commerce Secretary Gary Locke,
as well as Navy Secretary Ray Mabus.
He also planned to meet with Massachusetts National Guard
and Army members at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
On Thursday, House Speaker Robert DeLeo was joining the
governor for meetings with President Barack Obama, senior adviser
David Axelrod, the
Massachusetts congressional delegation and Transportation
Secretary Ray LaHood.
Patrick and Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle were also meeting with
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
