BOSTON (AP) - A member of the Kennedy family is endorsing Alan Khazei in his
bid to succeed the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Max Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy's second-youngest son and
Edward Kennedy's nephew, scheduled a news conference in Boston on
Thursday to announce his support for the City Year founder.
Max Kennedy also will appear with Khazei at Harvard and
Tufts universities later in the day.
Kennedy's wife, Vicki, was a City Year volunteer, and Max
Kennedy has been close to Khazei's brother. But he hasn't been
active in Massachusetts politics since he considered a run for
Congress in 2001.
The party primaries are Dec. 8.
Edward Kennedy died Aug. 25 of brain cancer.
