MURRIETA, Calif. (AP) - Riverside County sheriff's officials say a skydiver from Boston has been killed during a jump near Murrieta.

Officials say the skydiver, a 40-year-old man, landed on a driveway in the rural La Cresta area west of Murrieta late Wednesday afternoon. The man's name was not released.

Sgt. John Kaiser says there was an open parachute, but he did not know if it had deployed properly.  Officials say the skydiver had departed from Skydive Elsinore at Skylark Airport.

Skydive owner John Hamilton says the man was with four others who jumped without problems, but this man appeared to have hit the tail of the aircraft.

Only hours earlier, the man was part of a group of 68 that set a world record for the largest ever formation of wingsuit skydivers, an event that also raised money for a Los Angeles charity.
