SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Tiffany Street in Springfield's Forest Park neighborhood attracts speeders. Drivers ignore the 30 mile per hour speed limit in order to make a quick shortcut between the “X” and East Longmeadow.

Warren Albrecht has lived on Tiffany Street for nearly 50 years. He told 22News that the street' is getting more dangerous all the time.

“What's gone wrong is they use it for a speedway like Riverside Speed Park,” Albrecht said, “In fact, about six months ago, a guy hit the tree in front of my house. I don't know where he came from, when I came out, he was lying on the ground.”

Residents of East and West Alvord streets in the Forest Park area claim that speeding as also a serious problem on this short cut between Sumner Avenue, Allen Street, and Island Pond Road.
A woman who has been living there for 38 years told 22News that she put up a warning sign in hopes of slowing down the traffic. She admits, however, that drivers still won't slow down.
