Mean Streets: Jasper St. in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Residents of Jasper Street in Springfield have gathered signatures and presented a petition to the city. The petition demands something be done about the cars speeding down their street.

One of the main causes for concern is the day care that is located on Jasper Street.

Yamilette Otero told 22News that she hopes the speeding problem can be fixed before someone gets hurt. "You know, we're afraid that something serious is going to happen, I also have the day care and it's a problem. You know, every afternoon, every morning, you know it's a serious problem and we would like the city to do something about it."

This is the second petition Jasper Street residents have presented the city.

Otero said the city told her they're performing an investigation.
