WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Drivers taking a detour from a Wilbraham bridge being renovated, discover a mean street at the end of the road.
The 55 year old Red Bridge that connects Wilbraham with the Three Rivers section of Palmer will be closed for one year.
Drivers are detoured to Boston road via Cottage Avenue, and that's a problem if you don't have time to kill.
Drivers complain to 22News how long they're forced to wait just to take a left turn to go to Palmer.
“It's hard to get out in the street. It’s an inconvenience. [There is] heavy traffic turning to get here at five o'clock.”
With so much traffic heading east and west and Boston road at
the Wilbraham railroad underpass, drivers on Cottage Avenue have no
choice but to stay put until they can safely enter the highway.
