SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Residents living on Jasper Street in Springfield's Pine Point neighborhood say that high speed traffic is a problem.
Drivers are using Jasper Street as a short cut between the heavily traveled Bay Street and Berkshire Avenue.
Longtime resident Jerry Singer told 22News that parking on both sides of the street and a lack of posted speed limit signs, puts the neighborhood residents in jeopardy.
"Jasper street has become more of a thoroughfare than a residential street. We have a lot of children on the street and we have a lot of pets and it's only a matter of time," said Singer.
Singer says it has become commonplace for inconsiderate drivers to damage parked cars as they come speeding through Jasper Street.
