Moms machete rampage

HOUSTON, Tex. (KPRC) - A Houston, Texas mother has been accused of attacking her daughter with a machete.

Ana Cristina Canales, 48, is charged with aggravated assault.

Investigators said Canales pulled out a machete and attacked her 17-year-old daughter.

According to a police report, Canales told officers, "I am glad I was stopped because who knows how far I would have gone."

Police said they arrived on the scene near downtown Houston on the night of July 3 to find Canales drunk and apologetic.

Canales' daughter was not seriously injured.

The teen and her two brothers, ages 6 and 11, are now in custody of Child Protective Services.
