NEW YORK (WWLP) - The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at its highest level in five years on Tuesday.
The Dow ended the day at 14018; the highest close since 2007. The S&P 500 index also closed at a five-year high, ending at 1519.43.
The timing of the close is good news for President Barack Obama, who will give his State of the Union address on Tuesday night. Job creation is expected to be the biggest focus of the President’s remarks before Congress and the nation.
