Ryan Walsh

Sports Reporter

(WWLP) - Ryan Walsh joined 22News in October of 2006 as the station's sports anchor/reporter.  Following in the footsteps of Rich Tettemer,  Rich helped Ryan adapt quickly to the area and the local sports scene.

Ryan graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University in May, 2002.  While in Syracuse, Ryan began his broadcasting career as a news and sports producer at WSYR-TV, then WIXT-TV in Syracuse.  In November of 2003, he landed at WIVT-TV in Binghamton, NY where he was a sports anchor/reporter for three years.

Even though Ryan has had the opportunity to cover the Super Bowl, World Series and Red Sox spring training, Ryan enjoys covering western Mass. high school and UMass sports the most.

Ryan grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. The closest landmark to his hometown is the Sesame Place Amusement Park. Ryan is the youngest of three brothers, and he is ten years younger than his next closest sibling.  He is currently the Alumni President of Theta Chi Fraternity at Syracuse University.
