Amelia Sapowsky

Multi-Platform Journalist

(WWLP) - Amelia is a native of Granby, Massachusetts, but she currently lives in Ware. She is a 2007 graduate of Granby Jr. Sr. High School. Amelia played basketball for the Rams and along with her younger brother scored 1000 points in her senior year. Amelia graduated from Springfield College in 2011 where she played on the Varsity basketball team and majored in Sports Journalism and Communications. Before joining the 22News Team, she interned at the Republican as a sports writer.

Amelia has coached with P.L.A.Y. (Planned Learning Achievement for Youth) under the esteemed Coach Dennis Jackson for 10 years. She was also crowned Miss Polonia in 2007 at Pilsudski Park in Holyoke.

Her true passion in life is sports, but Amelia loves to paint as well as sing. In her spare time, she spends time with her family, playing basketball and watching her New England teams.
