Matt Caron

Multi-Platform Journalist

(WWLP) - Matt joined 22News in 2006. He worked behind the scenes in the Production and Internet Departments before transitioning to news.

A native of western Massachusetts, Matt is a 2010 graduate of Western New England University in Springfield where he majored in Communications.

Matt is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honor society. He is also a proud member of the Valley Press Club Scholarship Committee which helps to award future young journalists with college scholarships. Matt was a recipient of a scholarship from the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association.

In 2005, as the editor of South Hadley High School’s newspaper, Matt wrote an editorial about bullying that gained national press. Frank LoMonte, the head of the Student Press Law Center called his piece, “Student journalism at its best.””

In his spare time, Matt can usually be found fishing, golfing, playing tennis, or spending time with family and friends. He is also a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan.
