Sy Becker

(WWLP) - Sy Becker joined WWLP-22News as a general assignment reporter and Movie Critic in July of 1979. His popular "Sy’s Look at the Movies" series is a feature of 22News.

With over 30 years of broadcasting experience, he brought with him impressive credentials in radio news broadcasting when he joined WWLP-22News. He was news director and an award-winning reporter at WSPR-AM radio in Springfield, Massachusetts for 14 years and served concurrently as film critic for 9 years. Prior to that, he was a news reporter for WACE-AM in Chicopee, Massachusetts, WWNC-AM in Ashville, North Carolina and WKEN-AM in Dover, Delaware.

Sy holds numerous awards in broadcast news and movie reviewing excellence. He has the distinction of winning "Best Movie Reviewer" in the Springfield Advocate and Valley Advocate Reader’s Poll since 1993.

Sy is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He attended City College of New York and the School of Radio and Television in New York.
