(1919-2013) - Anita E. (Levesque) Leno, 94, passed away February 26, 2013 at Birch Manor Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Chicopee.  Anita, daughter of the late Ernest and Laura (Moreau) Levesque, was born at home on February 4, 1919.  She graduated from Agawam High School, Class of 1937.  After working at Van Norman, she worked for more than thirty years at Monsanto Chemical Company in Springfield.  Above all else, Anita loved family, friends, the church, good food, gardening, baking, giving generously of both her talent and treasure, and especially children. She enjoyed baking, bowling, knitting, chrocheting, and traveling. She was a good soul who will be greatly missed.  She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. 

Anita is survived by her daughter, Judith L. Case, her son-in-law, Joe P. Case, her grandson, Brian C. Case all of Amherst, her sister, Jeannette E. Levesque of Feeding Hills, and several nieces, nephews and distant cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-two years, Vernon C. Leno, and her sisters, Blanche Levesque, Lilian Levesque, Aileen “Bushey” Eggleston, Alice Bohn and her brothers, Edward, Alfred and Aimee “Tootsie” Levesque.  Anita’s family express their deepest thanks to the wonderful staffs at Birch Manor, Elaine at Hadley, and the Arbors, Amherst for the warm and caring way they took care of her. 

The funeral will be Saturday at 10am at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 11. The burial will follow in Springfield Street Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7pm. Those wishing to do so are invited to make donations to Sacred Heart Church, 1103 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030.
