Domingos Martins

(1929-2012) - Domingos Martins, 82, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on September 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sabuzedo, Montalegre, Portugal, he has lived in Ludlow since 1967 where he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and former member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He worked for many years at HBA Cast Products in Springfield before retiring, and also enjoyed gardening; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Domingos was the beloved husband of 49 years to Antonia (Miranda) Martins; a loving father to Fatima Santos and husband Mario, of Ludlow; a cherished grandfather to Katarina and Ryan Santos; a dear brother to Rosa Martins, of Lisbon, Isabel Moura, of Indian Orchard, and the late Jose, Ana, Arminda, Joanna, Joaquim, Antonio, Joao, and Maria; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Wing Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ballan, Dr. Slitzky, and Spectrum Hospice Care.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00.
