(1922-2012) - Eleanor F. (Hennrikus) Case, 90, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in Mercy Medical Center.  Born in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late John and Frances (Sheridan) Hennrikus, she lived here since 1947.  Eleanor was a 1940 graduate of Commerce High School in Springfield and a 1944 graduate of the former Westfield State Teacher’s College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  She taught in East Longmeadow, Springfield, at Danahy School in Agawam and retired from Phelps School in Agawam in 1986.  She was a member of the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association, the Catholic Women’s Club and loved spending time at their summer home in North Falmouth.  She was also a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.

She leaves her husband of sixty-six years, Manning S. Case, Sr., two sons and their wives, Thomas M. and Nancy Case of Port Charlotte, FL, Stewart, Jr. and Michelle Case of Agawam, two daughters and their husbands, Margaret C. and John Reardon of Westfield, Ellen F. and Butch LaMagdelaine of Charlotte, NC, five grandchildren, Megan Connor, James Tierney, Thomas Case, Joseph Case, Shawn LaMagdelaine, and three great-grandchildren, Julie Case, Amber Case and Grace Connor. 

A Funeral Mass will be Monday at 2pm at St. John the Evangelist Church followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service at Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street from 12-1:30pm.  Donations may be made to St. Mary’s High School, 27 Bartlett Street, Westfield, MA 01085.
