Francis Y. Cadieux

(1927 - 2009) - Francis Y. Cadieux, 81, of Springfield and Estero, FL died Saturday evening October 31, 2009 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, South in Agawam.

Francis, a son of the late George and Ida (Pinnsoneault) Cadieux was born in Springfield on December 19, 1927. Raised in Springfield he graduated from St. Thomas School and Cathedral High. He attended Holy Cross College and graduated from A.I.C. He was the owner and dental technician at Art Dental Lab in Indian Orchard and retired in 1989. He also worked as a substitute teacher at Springfield Technical High School and as a real estate developer in Wilbraham. He served his country during WWII with the United States Army.

In addition to his parents Francis was predeceased by two brothers, John and Rene Cadieux a sister, Lucille Poirer, and a grandson Michael. Francis is survived by his wife Joyce (Piquette) Cadieux; three sons, William F. Cadieux and his wife Ann Marie of Florence, SC, Joseph T. Cadieux and his wife Mary and John D. Cadieux and his wife Lori both of Springfield; two daughters, Denise Cadieux-Gellesch and her husband Ulli of Germany; and Michelle R. Cadieux of Monson; three brothers, Dr. Raymond Cadieux of Cape Cod, MA Dr. Roger Cadieux of Somerset, MA, and Gaston Cadieux of Slingersland, NY; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are asked to meet on Friday morning, November 6, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial for Francis at 11 a.m. Rites of Committal and entombment with Military Honors will follow in the Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Francis’ memory may be made to Parents and Friends at Monson Developmental Center, Monson, MA 01057. Sampson Family Chapels is entrusted with the arrangements.
