(1945-2009) - Gerald P. Cronin, 63, of Springfield died Friday morning October
30, 2009 in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.
Gerald, a son of the late John A. Cronin and Clara
(D’Amario) Cronin who died October 25, 2009 was born in
Springfield on December 22, 1945. Gerald was raised in Springfield
and attended local schools and has lived here most of his life. He
was employed as a truck driver Yellow Freight for 26 years retiring
in 2007 and was a proud member of the Brotherhood of Teamsters
Locals 404 of Springfield and 707 in New York.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was predeceased by a
brother John Cronin. He is survived by two sons, Daniel M. Cronin
and his wife Melissa of Westfield and Gerald P. Cronin, Jr. and his
wife Tamara of Hudson, FL; a daughter, Tamara Lucas of Springhill,
FL; two brothers, Neno Cronin and his wife Barbara of Forestville,
NY and Lincoln Cronin of Turners Falls; a sister, Donna M. McKinney
and her husband Charles of Wales; a grandson, Vincent; a
granddaughter, Trina; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Cronin of
Springfield; along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral home service for Gerald will be held on Thursday
evening November 5, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Sampson’s Chapel of
the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Rites of
Committal and Burial will be held at the convenience of the family
in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions in Gerald’s memory may be made to the
Make a Wish Foundation of Western Mass., 181 Park Avenue, Suite 12,
West Springfield, MA 01089.
