Isabel Demmon

(1917-2012) - Miss Isabel Demmon, 94, of Fitchburg, died September 14, 2012 at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke.  Isabel was the twin sister of Priscilla Peterson of Agawam.  Isabel was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Nurse Corps and served in India during World War II.  Also serving in WWII were Priscilla, who served in the United States Coast Guard (SPAR), her brother Philip Demmon, who was on Saipan with the United States Army Air Force, and sister Arlene Cross, who was stationed in Hawaii with the United States Navy (WAVES). 

Isabel is predeceased by Arlene and Philip.  In addition to her sister, Isabel leaves her nephew, Richard Peterson of Agawam, and nieces, Patrice Peterson of Tucson, AZ, Carolyn Rice of Leominster and Rosemary Marshall of Fitchburg, as well as cousins and grand nephews. 

The funeral will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Fitchburg.
