Janet S. Richter

(1943-2012) - Janet S. (Lawson) Richter, 71, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at home. Born in Bloomfield, Missouri, daughter of the late Cyril and Sylvia (Norris) Lawson, she moved to Southwick in 1979 and to Agawam in 1994.  Janet was a truck driver for Malady’s Castle.  She loved animals and also worked at the Eastern States Exposition guarding the judges who judge the horses in the Coliseum.

She leaves her husband, Frederick W. Richter, a daughter, Tina M. Benson of Agawam, and two grandchildren, Jessica Benson and Joseph Foster. She was predeceased by a daughter, Tammie Foster in 2011, and two sisters, Jean Harrington and Carol Jenkins. 

The funeral will be Sunday at 5pm at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street with a private burial. The calling hours will precede the service from 2-5pm.
