(1938-2012) - John E. “Jack” Hoy, III, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 after a hard fought battle with cancer.  Jack was the son of the late John E. and Dorothy (Langer) Hoy.  He went to work at Pratt & Whitney right out of school and retired from there at age fifty-five after a thirty-eight year career.  He enjoyed golf, his scotch and taking care of his lawn.  He moved to Agawam in 1965 and was a member of the Dante Club in West Springfield. 

He leaves his wife of fifty-six years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Krutiak) Hoy, his five children, Jean Kelley and her husband Robert of Westfield, Joan Choiniere and her husband Stanley of Southwick, Jane Norrman of Agawam, John E. Hoy, IV of West Springfield, June Langevin and her husband Robert of Chicopee.  He leaves nine grandchildren, Katelyn, Dwain, Shawn, Tori, Jessi, John E. V, Jacob, Jacqueline, and Samantha.  He also leaves his five great-grandchildren.  He leaves his brothers, Arthur Hoy of West Springfield, James Hoy of Port St. Lucie, Paul Turoczy of Springfield, a sister, Mary Jane Vaughn and brother-in-law and friend Butch Vaughn of Springfield.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Roger Hoy and Jan “Scoop” Turoczy and a sister, Marcia Sniezek. 

At his request, there will be no calling hours.  There will be a private family memorial at Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield.  In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
