(1945-2013) - Joseph “Gerry” Barry, 67, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Montreal, Province of Quebec, Canada, son of the late Edward and Pauline (Leveille) Barry, he lived in Holyoke most of his life and a was a 1964 graduate of Holyoke High School.  Joseph was a retired welder for the former E. H. Fredericks Company in Holyoke, where he worked for over twenty-five years.  He was a Boy Scout and had attained his Eagle Scout Badge, a Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War and was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman.  He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Cross. 

He leaves his wife of forty-six years, Linda M. (LaRosa) Barry, two sons, Michael G. Barry of Holyoke, Thomas W. Smith of Springfield, two daughters, Cheryl A. Snow of Milton, VT, Gina M. Barry of Holyoke, a brother, Joseph A.V. Barry of Georgia, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a sister, Fleurette Fontaine. 

The funeral will be Monday at 9:45am from the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street with a Mass in Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke.  The burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5pm.
