Luisa F. Monteiro

(1950-2012) - Luisa F. Monteiro, 61, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa (Natario) Monteiro, she was a lifelong resident and 1968 Ludlow High School graduate.  She worked for 18 years at Ciciarelli Insurance Agency,  then as a customer representative for E.J O'Neils for 13 years, most recently as an office manager for Petell Teece Insurance Agency for 10 years, and was also a faithful communicant of St Celelia's Church. 

Luisa was the beloved sister to Tony Monteiro and wife Dolores, of Indian Orchard, Armand Monteiro and wife Simone, Mary Coelho and late husband Manuel, and Zora Gonsalves and late husband Manuel, all of Ludlow; a loving Godmother to Jeff Coelho; and also leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends, including her longtime friend Diane Pytko.  

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012  from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Cecilia's Church at 10:00am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.  Visiting hours precede the funeral from 8-9:30am and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Luisa's memory to The Alzheimers Association 264 Cottage St. Springfield, Ma. 01104, American Heart Association 54 Wayside Ave. # C West Springfield, Ma. 01089, or 167 Dwight Rd.
