Mary Cavallon

(1912-2013) - Mary (Borgo) Cavallon, 101, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 21, 2013.  Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Ermenegildo and Dolina (Conti) Borgo, she moved to Italy when she was eight years old and came back to the United States when she was eighteen.  She lived in Agawam most of her life and worked for the former Carter’s Clothing Company, the Barton Clothing Company and the Rainbow Coat Factory.  Mary was a member of the Agawam Golden Age Club Chapter 1, the St. Ann’s Society and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. 

Her husband, Fiore Cavallon died in 1983.  She leaves two sons, Roy F. Cavallon of Westfield, Ronald L. Cavallon of Cotuit, four grandchildren, Mark Cavallon, David Cavallon, Courtney Cavallon, Whitney Rebello and three great-grandchildren, Blake Cavallon, Dane Cavallon and Landon Rebello.

The funeral will be Friday at 9:30am from the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10. The burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield.  Calling hours will precede the service from 8:30 – 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to the charity of one’s choice.
