Richard F. Sassarone

(1952-2012) - Richard F. Sassarone, 60, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, son of the late Frank and Lydia (Pisano) Sassarone, he was a lifelong resident and a 1969 graduate of Agawam High School.  Richard worked for Olympic Manufacturing and previously worked for Arrow Fuel Oil.  He was also a Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War. 

He leaves his twin brother, Ronald V. Sassarone and his wife Christine of Feeding Hills, two sisters, Marie G. Sibilia and her husband Jerry of Agawam, Patricia A. McCarthy of Feeding Hills, special friends, Jami and Anthony Angelini of Feeding Hills, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. 

Calling hours are Thursday at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street from 4-8pm. The burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baystate Visiting Nurse & Hospice, c/o Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut Street, 6th Floor, Springfield, MA 01199.
