SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - President Clinton or President Christie? A new poll shows former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie are leading the pack in the 2016 race for the White House.

The recent study was done by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. With more than three years to go before the next election, the survey has the two as the top contenders among all candidates, but in a head-to-head matchup, Democrat Clinton has the advantage, outpolling Republican Christie 45% to 37%.

22News asked people who they would support if the Presidential race was underway.

"Chris Christie seems to have his finger on the pulse of the common working person,” Mia Wood of Madison, Connecticut said. “I think that Hillary Clinton has more of an affiliation with corporations than the rest of the country would like to think."

Chris Pierson of Longmeadow would support Clinton because "She's been in politics one way or another for, you know, at least 20 years, and I think she would have a better agenda than Chrisite would, as well."

So far, neither Hillary Clinton nor Chris Christie have said whether they would run for President of the United States.
