WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez will be making a stop in western Massachusetts as part of a campaign kickoff tour on Thursday.
The former Navy SEAL and Cohasset resident made his first kickoff stop at the American Legion in Quincy Thursday morning, and will also visit a diner in Shrewsbury during the late morning hours, and the American Legion in West Springfield at 2:45 in the afternoon.
Gomez is one of three Republicans who have collected enough signatures to appear on the April 30 primary ballot in the special senate election. He is expected to face-off against Norfolk State Representative Daniel Winslow and former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan.
The winner of the primary will go against the winner of the Democratic primary; either Malden Congressman Edward Markey or South Boston Congressman Stephen Lynch in the June 25 election.
