SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - By a margin better than two-to-one, Springfield voters chose to
keep Mayor Domenic Sarno in office for two more years. City
Councilor Bud Williams lost by more than 9,000 votes at the polls
on Tuesday.
Mayor Sarno told 22News he looks forward to leading the city
through these tough times ahead and promised to be relentless on
crime. He said his main focus, beyond public safety, is bringing
more jobs to the Springfield area.
Sarno said he felt it was an uphill battle running for
re-election. He said it has been tough running the city,
campaigning for re-election, and keeping up with his family life.
