CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Chicopee Mayor Michael Bissonnette was easily re-elected to a third term on Tuesday.
He outpolled City Council Vice President Shane Brooks by two-to-one, finishing with 7,600 votes.
Bissonnette celebrated his victory at Hu Kee Lau Restaurant Tuesday night with his family and supporters.
“It's been a great four years. We've done a good job for the people of the city. And I'm so grateful to them for the mandate to keep Chicopee moving forward,” he said.
The newly re-elected mayor said he will get right back to work Wednesday morning to deal with critical issues, like keeping city finances strong.
