SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - If you voted in the November elections, you weren't alone.

Secretary of State William Galvin said a record number of Massachusetts voters cast ballots on Election Day.

Galvin said more than three million people voted in the November 6, 2012 elections.
That's about 73 percent of the state's 4.3 million voters.

22News asked residents if they thought even more people would turn out if voting was made easier. since many states now allow early voting.

Voter Kerry Washington told 22News "For the bigger cities, I think there should probably be more designated areas for them to vote so the lines aren't longer."

According to Galvin, about 81,000 more Massachusetts voters participated in this year's Presidential election than the elections of November 2008.
