Warren looking for victory in hard-fought Senate campaign

BOSTON (WWLP) - At the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, Democrat Elizabeth Warren and her supporters will gather Tuesday night, hoping for a victory in one of the most watched Senate races in the country.

Warren, a Harvard professor and consumer advocate, is challenging incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown. She cast her vote at her local polling location in Cambridge around 7:15 Tuesday morning, and then took off to greet voters in and around Boston for the day.

22News spoke with some voters who supported Warren at the polls Tuesday, about why they believe she's the right one for the job.

“I have a lot of friends who have been canvassing for her. She came to our campus. I'm a northeastern student and I really appreciated that. I think she's doing a really good job of trying to reach younger voters,” said Anna Siembor, a Northeastern University student who lives in Boston’s Mission Hill section.

“I respect her values. I share many of her values,” Warren supporter David Brendel said. “I think she's incredibly bright and capable. She's accomplished some wonderful things here in the Boston area at Harvard and in Washington for the country.”

Polls in Massachusetts close at 8:00 P.M., and as the results come in, stay with 22News and WWLP.com, as we will be tracking the results town-by-town and county-by-county.
