BOSTON (WWLP) - President Barack Obama is in the Bay State to help his friend, Governor Deval Patrick, raise some campaign funds.

The first stop on his agenda is at Cambridge's Massachusetts's Institute of Technology, where the President will address the school about clean energy. The U.S. Senate is debating a climate bill is on Friday.

Once the President leaves MIT, he will head over to Boston for a fundraising luncheon for Governor Patrick.

Patrick faces re-election next year with a potentially uphill battle considering all of the difficult cuts he had to make to the state budget.
