SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield police have released new surveillance video of Friday night's massive natural gas explosion on Worthington Street.
The video, taken from Chestnut Street looking north toward the Worthington Street intersection. As you can see, the blast was so powerful it damaged more than 40 buildings.
Police Sgt. John Delaney said it looked as though there was a missile strike where the explosion leveled the Scores Gentlemen's Club.
Springfield police edited-in audio from the city's "Shotspotter" system, which is used to detect gunfire in the city.
