CHICAGO (WMAQ) - A 1-year-old boy died Tuesday after a television detectives guessed weighed about 100 pounds toppled onto him in his Chicago home.

Shawn Brown was taken from the home and rushed to a hospital by a relative shortly after 1 p.m., police said.

"The back of the tube is much bigger than the stand, so it's not stable enough because the TV was too big to be sitting on what it was sitting on. I don't know how they moved that TV off the baby," said neighbor Lolita Moore.

The incident happened on the second floor of the boy's home.

He was playing in one room, away from his mother, when the TV tipped over.

"I never did see the baby. I didn't want to see him. They said it busted his head open. He was bleeding so much, and I don't think I could take it," said the boy's great-grandmother, Moselle Kylie.

Incidents of TVs falling on children resulted in at least three other Chicago area deaths since last fall.

Gianna Hadjis, 4, of University Park was killed last month.

A Hamilton Park girl, 3-year-old Shaniya Singleton, was killed in November, and a 6-year-old boy, Karl Clermont, was killed when a TV fell on his head in October.
