HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - Smoke detectors saved an elderly couple in Hadley Sunday morning.

Assistant Fire Chief Edward Dudkiewcz told 22News smoke detectors woke up the family at 75 Chmura Road around one o’clock Sunday morning.

Dudkiewcz said eighteen firefighters from four other fire departments came to help put out the fire, and that the home is more than eighty percent gone.

He also said the fire was most likely caused by electrical problems.

No one was injured.
