Two attacked in Boston medical building

BOSTON (AP) - Police say one person was shot and another stabbed outside a psychiatric office at a Boston medical building.

Police say a suspect has been arrested following the Tuesday afternoon attack at 50 Staniford St., a high-rise building affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital. Police say the attack took place outside the psychiatric office on the fifth floor.

Officials did not immediately have information on the condition of the victims, their identities or circumstances that led to the attack.

Security locked down the building, notifying employees and patients inside they could not immediately leave. Streets also were shut down nearby.

The building is located in a largely commercial area between City Hall and TD Garden. It hosts businesses with various treatment specialties and several medical groups associated with the nearby Massachusetts General Hospital.
