BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The Boston Globe uncovered Massachusetts State payroll records
Wednesday, and some of the salaries the report revealed may
surprise you.
The highest paid state employee took home $613 thousand last
year.
State payroll records show that most of the Bay State's
highest paid public employees work for the five campus University
of Massachusetts system.
Highest paid is Derek Lovely, Associate Dean of UMass
Amherst's College of Natural Resources and the Environment.
Number two on the list? Umass Medical School Chancellor
Michael Collins, who grossed $609 thousand.
Governor Deval Patrick was one thousand seventy sixth on the
list of state employee salaries at $140-thousand a year.
