BOSTON (WHDH) - Lawmakers on Beacon Hill are debating over some dirty laundy.
State Representative Vincent Pedone of Worcester has proposed
a bill aimed to make sure men and women are charged the same amount
for their dry cleaning.
Pedone said that a woman complained that her dry cleaner had
charged her $4.75 to clean a shirt where the same shirt for a man
costs $1.75.
A survey in New York found that women were charged on average
73 percent more than men to have the same shirt cleaned.
