INDIAN ORCHARD, Mass. (WWLP) - A 9-year-old boy is alive today thanks to a courageous Wilbraham
school crossing guard who risked his life to save the little boy.
The Pioneer Valley Red Cross honors Joe Lesniak of Indian
Orchard later this month as a hometown hero.
22News caught up with Joe Lesniak on the job.
One afternoon last year, this beloved Stony Brook elementary
school employee would suddenly confront a life or death crisis when
Joe saw an out of control driver bearing down on him and little
Timmy Budrow.
For Timmy's parents, Maureen and John Budrow, Joe Lesniak will forever be their hero. Joe's boss, Stony Hill principal Sherill Caruana just can't get over the courage shown by her hometown hero.
