SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Mayor of Agawam Susan Dawson says she was viciously attacked by
another woman at a restaurant in Springfield Wednesday night.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that police
were called to Max's Tavern at The Basketball Hall Of Fame for a
dispute between two women.
Dawson told police a 61 year-old woman from Longmeadow
attacked her outside the women's bathroom -- pulling her hair,
pushing her to the ground, and kicking her twice. She also told
police she lost consciousness.
According to the police report, a busboy who tried to break
up the fight was also scratched.
The woman who Dawson identified as her attacker left before
police arrived.
Dawson was taken to Baystate Medical Center where she was
treated for superficial wounds and released.
Sgt. Delaney says police know the identity of the other
woman but they are not releasing her name at this time.
