(WWLP) - Are your children's vaccine injections safe?
There's been a lot of debate and fear that certain
vaccinations cause autism.
But leading health organizations, including the CDC and the
NIH, say that there is no relationship between vaccines and autism.
Yet many parents and smaller research groups think there is
more to the story
Some researchers think that a mercury-based preservative
which was used in many vaccines from the late 1980s to 2003 may
cause autism.
Pediatrician Johnathan Shwab has talked to several parents
about the issue, quoting studies in which the shots were stopped
and the rate of autism still increased.
"You are actually risking your child for somehitng we know
they could get for not vaccinating your child", says Dr. Shwab.
