(WWLP) - The moon this weekend was the biggest and brightest one of 2009, impressing even seasoned observers.
It's called a perigee moon, appearing as big and bright as it does because its orbit takes it the closest to Earth as it gets.
Perigee full moons come along once or twice a year.
