WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Noble Hospital in Westfield has announced that 9 workers have been laid off from the hospital's clinical and non-clinical areas.

It was announced on Tuesday that the reduction in its 600-member staff was done to offset recent cuts in state reimbursements under Medicare and other services it provides.

Hospital President and Chief Executive Officer George J. Koller told 22news the reduction in staff is part of a plan to address budget constraints at the hospital.
