MIDDLEFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Last month's ice storm had a devastating effect on the hill towns of Hampden and Hampshire counties.
Many Middlefield homes were without power for as much as a week and a half.
Wednesday 22News visited one Middlefield family who remember all too well what they went through last month.
Thomas Rock told 22News his families grateful this latest ice storm didn't pack the punch from the storm that left his home without power for a full week.
His wife Chris told 22News she can still feel the terrible vibrations from trees falling near their home.
As they prepared for this latest storm, the Rock family was ready with the generator, oil lamps, and a large supply of water, just to be on the safe side.
Their backyard still carries the scars of the last storm. Tree branches are down everywhere.
It's all part of what Thomas Rock envisions as a lot of spring cleaning.
