GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It certainly has to be a major holiday season controversy: should employees be allowed to shop online during work hours? Some companies and municipalities have rules about such things.
For example, Greenfield's Director of Human Resources, Denniss Helmus, told 22News, "Town employees may only shop online during their non-paid lunch hour."
But are they being allowed enough time? No, said Nancy Akey, the co-owner of a Greenfield insurance agency. She told 22News that workers should be given time to shop online as long as their shopping doesn't detract from customer service and care.
She told 22News that with people living such hectic lives today, it's tough to try to finish your online shopping during your lunch hour.
