Bay State border towns now benefit from that ban

Legislation is being filed in Connecticut that would lift that state’s ban on Sunday liquor sales.

That move would generate extra tax revenue for that state that is facing massive budget deficits.

On Sundays, Connecticut residents flock to border towns like Agawam to buy liquor. Phipps Discount
Liquors in Feeding Hills gets a lot of business from Connecticut on Sundays.

Some Connecticut residents that 22News spoke with say their state should approve Sunday sales although some who live in border towns say they might still buy in Massachusetts for cheaper prices.
